Hoja Verde's 66% dark chocolate bar has a very 'natural' aroma. It's very fruity at first (red fruits), and also has a nutty notes. This bar has also been awarded twice,the prize for the best chocolate bar in Ecuador in 2015, and a bronze medal winner at the famed Academy of Chocolate Award in London, 2016.
Hoja Verde uses cacao of the national variety “fino de aroma”, well recognized in the world for its aromatic floral and fruit qualities. They have worked with organic cocoa from the province of Esmeraldas of the UOPROCAE association (Unión de Productores de Cacao Arriba de Esmeraldas/Union of Producers of Cacao “fino de aroma” of Esmeraldas), who have differentiated themselves by having a good process of fermentation and varieties with aromatic qualities.
